I like coffee. Especially fruity, floral coffee.
I've been noticing an interesting phenomenon since it got cold. So, I like coffee the most when I can smell and taste the fruitiness from the first whiff and sip.
But since it got cold, that has disappeared.
At first, I thought the coffee was underextracted. But, when paying closer attention, I noticed I can still find the fruitiness in the aftertaste. So, the fruitiness still gets from the ground coffee into the drink, but it's not noticable in the first interaction with the drink.
I'm almost certain this has to do with the lower temperature, but I'm not sure whether this comes into play at the extraction phase or at the drinking phase. I'll have to see if I can think of a way to test which one is responsible. My intuition is telling me the extraction phase is more likely the cause. But I can't bet on it just yet.
