Statistical Intuition

statistics

/stəˈtɪstɪks/

noun

the  practice or science of collecting and analysing numerical data in large  quantities, especially for the purpose of inferring proportions in a  whole from those in a representative sample.

intuition

/ɪntjʊˈɪʃ(ə)n/

noun

the ability to understand something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning.

Like the title says, this document aims to help people (and myself) develop statistical intuition. Statistics is not intuitive for us humans, because we're not used to big numbers, probability, corelations, etc. But I believe we can make these ideas more intuitive if we relate them to things we find intuitive. These things are things we can experience with our senses.

I don't know how this will turn out, but I want to try. That's why I posted this page, before doing anything. I want to see something visible of a work I want to do, even though it's just a stub now.
